Ledley: All to play for

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Ledley King believes there is still much to play for in the Barclays Premiership as the team prepare to return to league action against Fulham at the Lane on Saturday.

It is nearly three weeks since our last outing with points at stake and they were duly secured against Portsmouth with a 3-1 victory. We currently sit 9th in the table on 36 points with a game in hand on most of the teams above us - just seven points separate 9th and 5th place.

"It's been a while since we played our last league game, but Portsmouth was a good result and we need to get back to putting points on the board," reasoned Ledley. "If we can produce that kind of performance against Fulham then we know we are capable of winning the game."

The skipper agrees that we are usefully positioned should the team embark on another lengthy unbeaten run.

"Definitely, any team that can find some consistency from now to the end of the season has got a great chance of doing something."

Not getting ahead of himself, however, Ledley knows that Fulham will provide a difficult obstacle and knows he and his defensive colleagues will have a job on his hands containing the threat of seasoned goal-getter Andy Cole.

"On their day they are a tough side to beat, they have had an up and down season but can cause problems. We struggled with them last season and the season before that at White Hart Lane so we are not taking the game lightly.

"Cole is a clever player and is a goalscorer - he has got a great record. You don’t score that many goals if you are not a great player so we definitely need to keep an eye on him.

"Boa Morte is a player who can also cause big problems along with Malbranque. They are all good players and on their day they can turn anyone over.

"In midfield, Bouba Diop is massive, he’s scored some good goals this season and seems to be improving the longer the season goes on. He is a big lad and he gets in the box he is tough to pick up.

"They have got players there that can do you if you are not right."

Meanwhile, Ledley reports the groin problems he has been suffering with in recent weeks are easing, noticeable from the way he was stepping forward from the back to lend his weight to the attack against Nottingham Forest last week.

"They seem to be improving, it is the first time in a while that I've been able to train early in the week after a game.

"Pushing forward is something that I like to do and try and add to my game. I've been trying to hold back from getting too far forward in recent weeks because I haven't been training so much with the groin problem.

"You can't think about that too much though, when you have to do it you have to sacrifice yourself a little and go for it."
