Leading the way on grassroots coaching in China
21 July 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Last year, the Chinese government announced a vision for the country to become a football superpower by 2050 and build a national team capable of winning the World Cup.
We have already seen the Chinese Super League attract some of the game’s globally-recognised stars and the government recognises the Club as a leader when it comes to developing young players.
As a result, our Global Coaching team is regularly working out in China, with Steve Embleton, Anton Blackwood, Shaun Harris and Terry Fogarty currently running a two-week clinic for gifted and talented 7 to 11-year-olds from Shanghai primary schools.
All our coaches are trained to the standard of the Club’s Academy, with the methods that have helped develop the careers of the likes of Harry Kane and Ryan Mason being delivered to benefit young players across the world.
