Lars' season goes 'pop'
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Lars Hirschfeld accepts his competitive campaign is over after a dreaded hamstring 'pop' but hopes to return to training before the end of the season.
The Canadian goalkeeper tore his hamstring making a save for Luton Town against Oldham during his loan spell at Kenilworth Road.
Lars, 22, made his Nationwide League debut for the Hatters and was enjoying his time under Spurs legend Joe Kinnear before the unfortunate injury.
"It was just a quick reaction save, overstretched myself, heard a pop and that was that," recalled Lars.
"I partially tore the tendon that connects the hamstring to the bone so it needs a little time to heal.
"It's gone well this season and this happened just when I'd started to play first team football again.
"It's unfortunate because I was supposed to be at Luton for the rest of the season and it came at the wrong time for me.
"It was my debut in British football and it was going well, Luton are fighting for a play-off spot and they are going well.
"Hopefully I'll be able to start to do something before the season ends and then I'll have rehab in the summer and try to be ready for the Gold Cup with Canada.
"I have time on my side so I'm not going to push it but it would be great if I'm able to get back on the training pitch before the end of the season."Watch this interview on video byclicking hereor on the link above...
