Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t ruled out a first start in almost 14 months for Erik Lamela as we face Brighton in the Premier League at Wembley on Wednesday night.
The all-action attacking midfielder has now made three appearances off the bench in the Premier League - Leicester, Watford and Stoke - after recovering from a hip injury.
His last start was at Bournemouth on October 22, 2016.
So would he start against Brighton? “Maybe, I’ve still not decided,” said Mauricio at his press conference after training on Tuesday.
“I am going to decide later for tomorrow but yes, he has a chance to play from the start against Brighton.”

Mauricio hinted at changes to the team that lined-up in the 5-1 win against Stoke on Saturday.
“Yes, maybe tomorrow we are going to,” added Mauricio. “We’re assessing the players and we need to make good decisions because the competition is tough and we have a lot of games ahead.”
