Lads visit Haven House

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The lads made a special appearance at the Haven House Foundation Children's Hospice yesterday to deliver presents donated by the club and players themselves.

Several of the squad attended including Stephen Carr, Dean Richards, Rohan Ricketts and Robbie and first team coach Chris Hughton. Patsy Palmer, famed for her role as Bianca in Eastenders and a patron of Haven House, was also in attendance.

On the day of his own 21st birthday, Rohan was delighted to be dishing out the presents rather than receiving them.

He said: "As players we have a wonderful and privileged life. Visiting these kids is one of those times when we can give something back to some of those people who are less fortunate than ourselves."

Based in Woodford Green, Essex, the Haven House Foundation Children's Hospice is the club's nominated local charity.

The club works closely with Haven House in an effort to help them achieve their objectives. As one of our nominated charities we deliver planned and focused assistance which includes profile building through distributing literature at games, on-pitch presentations, copy in matchday programmes, features on our big screens and articles on our website.

The club supports Haven House by hosting fund raising events, organising player appearances and providing signed merchandise and other prizes for Haven House to auction.

Haven House offers respite care for children from the age of 0-19 with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses including progressive neurological disorders, cancer and leukaemia. The Hospice is free to all who need it without regard to race, religion or colour. To date the Hospice has received no statutory funding and needs to raise approximately £1.3m per year.
