Lads raise a Smile!

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, as Global Football Ambassadors for Special Olympics, is proud to announce its backing of the Smile Project.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, as Global Football Ambassadors for Special Olympics, is proud to announce its backing of the Smile Project.

We will be officially announcing our support of the online initiative at Saturday's Premier League match with Wigan Athletic at the Lane, when our players will warm up in the T-Shirts pictured above.

One year ago, Tottenham Hotspur became the first English Global Football Ambassadors of Special Olympics, joining Inter Milan, Corinthians of Brazil and the Republic of Ireland national team in becoming Global Football Ambassadors.

Special Olympics is the world's largest movement dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion and human dignity for more than 3 million people with intellectual disabilities through sport in over 175 countries.

Throughout the world, football brings people together in a powerful and emotional way - yet only 1 in 500 people with intellectual disabilities are given the chance to enjoy and play the beautiful game.

The Smile Project is an online initiative of Special Olympics aimed at promoting greater acceptance and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in sport.

By making a donation to the Smile Project, you can help more children and adults with intellectual disabilities reap the benefits and experience the joy of playing the beautiful game.

No matter how big or how small, your donation will change a life. Log onto http://www.smileproject.org/ and see the joy that comes from giving players with intellectual disabilities the chance to train, play, score goals and take part.

You can also visit the brand new Tottenham Hotspur section of the website and see how we are supporting the Special Olympics movement.
