Lads confident - Ryan

10 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Ryan Mason is confident our results will soon match our performances – with Sunderland his next target on Sunday.

It could be argued that we’ve deserved more out of all four matches in the Premier League so far.

We gave as good as we got at Old Trafford but lost to a Kyle Walker own goal, we then led 2-0 against Stoke and 1-0 at Leicester only to concede late equalisers and Tim Howard kept us at bay last time out as we racked up 20 shots at goal without reward in a 0-0 draw against Everton.

“The way we’re playing we know the results will soon follow,” said Ryan, who was part of Roy Hodgson’s England squad this week.

“We’re confident and there is no reason not to be. We feel we’ve probably outplayed every team we’ve faced this season and we’ve certainly deserved more.

“Sunderland is a big game and we all want that winning feeling back as soon as possible. Hopefully we’ll go up there and do exactly that.”

Ryan will be up against familiar faces in ex-Spurs Younes Kaboul and Jermain Defoe, players he looked up to as he progressed through the ranks at the club.

“Jermain is a natural finisher so of course we’re aware of his danger, you never lose those qualities,” he added.

“But we’ll be concentrating on what we need to do on Sunday.”
