Paulinho says we're confident going into Sunday's huge game against Liverpool.
The midfielder was on target as we beat AEL Limassol 3-0 on Thurdsay night to progress to the group stages of the Europa League.
That made it four wins in four so far this term under Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Paulinho soon had his sights set on Liverpool as we return to Premier League action on Sunday.
The Reds just missed out on the title last term and fans won’t need reminding of our two encounters against them.
But Paulinho and the rest of the squad have moved on. “Last season has happened, we all know that but it’s a new season and we’re all confident,” he said.
“This is a hard game but we’ve had two good wins in the Premier League and this is a chance to win against Liverpool. We know they are a good team but when you play at home you go forward to win the game.”
After scoring nine goals in his debut season, Paulinho was back on target against AEL and feeling good after an extended break following his World Cup exploits with Brazil.
“It was very important for me, my first game back at home and I feel fit, 100 per cent because I’ve trained for two weeks to be fit,” he added.
“I feel good and I just want to help the team in the Premier League and Europa League. It was good for me to score but most important for the team to win.”
As for his break, he added. “I never stop! But this is football. We can all stop when we finish our careers! It’s been hard but you have to be ready and fit to play well in every game.”
