They followed up Sunday's 6-0 victory at Braintree with a 3-1 success at Luton Town on Wednesday night to make it 14 wins from 17 league matches so far.

Delighted with a maximum haul from a tough week, manager Karen Hills was determined that her team takes it a game at a time. "The girls just need to stay focused," she said.

Luton Town 1-3 Spurs Ladies

Things didn't start too well on Wednesday night as the players struggled to get to Luton for the 7.45pm kick-off.

They had a full team by kick-off but Luton took command of the early stages and Spurs were indebted to goalkeeper Lou Cooper and an organised defence to make sure it remained goalless.

Jenna Schillaci settled the team down with a delightful free-kick into the top corner to open the scoring and it was soon 2-0 as Sam Pittuck slid the all through to Bianca Baptiste (pictured above) who finished confidently one-on-one.

It was 3-0 before half-time with the move of the match. Ebony Heath brought the the ball out of defence and Pittuck dummied Nicola Cable's pass to allow Baptiste to bury into the bottom corner.

Luton's work ethic brought them back into the game in the second half and they capitalised on a loss of concentration to make it 3-1. The home team continued to have the best of it after that but it remained 3-1.

"We weren't in the game for the first 20 minutes," reflected Karen. "But the back four did an excellent job under a lot of pressure and the experience of Lou Cooper coming into the side in goal really settled them.

"It was a good, physical test. We haven't come up against many sides that have pressed us all over the pitch so credit to Luton."

Spurs Ladies: Lou Cooper, Derrie O'Halloran, Ryha Vyse, Ebony Heath, Robin Downie, Nicola Cable, Jenna Schilliaci, Emma Kayser, Sam Pittuck, Robyn Mcevoy, Bianca Baptiste. Subs: Kirsten Thomson, Rosi Webb.

Braintree 0-6 Spurs Ladies

The ladies were slow into their stride before storming to a convincing win at Braintree on Sunday.

Indeed, it took a missed penalty from the home side to snap Spurs into action.

Bianca Baptiste did just that before the break to cross for Jenna Schillaci to open the scoring and it was a different story in the second half.

Karen Hills changed formation to 4-5-1 at the interval with Jess Cheeseman introduced to break play up. The change had an immediate effect as the team started to dominate midfield.

Sam Pittuck made it 2-0, Baptiste finished a fine move for 3-0 and Pittick struck again, lobbing the goalkeeper for the fourth.

Ryha Vyse (pictured) hit a screamer from outside the box for 5-0 and the scoring was completed by an own goal minutes from time.

"The first half wasn't the best performance and we were lucky to be 1-0 at half-time," said Karen.

"We needed to make changes and they worked well. In the second half we played the kind of football we've been playing all season.

"We scored some great individual goals and the substitutes made a great impression. Robyn Mcevoy is a strong midfieder and she will only strengthen the midfield further."
