Ladies latest - semi-final on Thursday

19 January 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs Ladies will try again with two big cup ties this week.

First up, the Ryman Cup semi-final against West Ham at Cheshunt, postponed last week, is scheduled for this Thursday (January 21, 7.45pm).

After that, they will attempt for the third time to take on Swindon Town in the second round of the SSE Women's FA Cup - already postponed twice - on Sunday (January 24, 2pm).

The team last played on December 20 and the players are raring to go - with a cup final up for grabs first up against the Hammers.

"Training is going well and girls are working hard, we're just looking forward to getting out there again," said Karen.

"West Ham have been improving and we won in the last minute the last we played, so we know what we're up against and it will be tough with a final at stake.

"We reached the final of this competition last season when we were unlucky to lose to Charlton. We'd love to go one better this time around."

Sophie Tudor has been called into the Wales Under-19 squad.

The midfielder and captain of our Under-16 team, Sophie impressed so much at Under-17 level for Wales that she's made the step up in age group. The squad has a training camp before taking on Northern Ireland on Thursday week (January 28).

"It's fantastic news for Sophie," said Karen. "Over the last few months she has stepped up and started to train more with our senior teams.

"She had fitted in superbly and the feedback from her coaches is that she has a great work ethic and is keen to develop and learn."

Megan Wynne is also back in the senior Wales squad for a training camp this week while Lucy Loomes is in the England Under-19 squad for next week's (January 26) friendly against Norway at St George's Park.
