Tottenham Hotspur U112
Bushey Rangers U11 0

HGFL Cup semi-final

Two cracking goals saw Spurs Under-11s through to the Herts. Girls Football League Cup final.

An early strike from Laura Newby, who provided a fitting finish to Tori Tripp’s excellent cross gave Spurs the lead and only an agile performance from the Bushey goalkeeper kept the score the same at the interval.

The second half started with Tottenham on the attack and it wasn’t long before a free-kick 30 yards out was fired in with great power by Hollie Watson to give Spurs a 2-0 lead. Only the crossbar denied Vicki Blake, who struck a fine shot that bounced down and away, but the team celebrated a second final in successive seasons.

Squad: Lily-Anna Tyrimos, Shoshana Field, Vicki Blake, Hollie Watson, Katie Bell, Tianna Carrington, Marva Kreel, Bobbi Cubberley, Laura Newby, Tori Tripp, Amy Woff, Charlotte McLucas.

QPR U12s 2
Tottenham Hotspur U12s 2
HGFL Cup semi-final
(QPR won 2-1 on penalties)

Despite coming back from going a goal behind on two occasions, Spurs Under-12s agonisingly lost 1-2 on penalties after extra time of this League Cup semi-final.

Tottenham went 1-0 down when a QPR corner bounced off one of their players into the net. Nikki Hunnable created the equaliser from a free-kick which was deflected into her own net by a Rangers defender in the 28th minute.

At the start of the second half, Whitney Tangos’ shot hit the crossbar, but QPR went ahead again when a low and hard shot found the net. With five minutes remaining, Renata Inniss made a great run from the half-way line to set up Tango to shoot home.

Two halves of extra time was played out without any further score and as four of the Spurs girls failed from the spot, QPR managed to squeeze two shots in to secure a place in the final.

Squad: Daisy O’Sullivan, Olivia Keown (c), Harley Keenlyside, Shianne St. Louis, Katie Mills, Rosie Kmita, Molly Kmita, Ayse Mustafa, Hannah Lyons, Taylor O’Leary, Renata Inniss, Georgia Bruce, Whitney Tango, Charlotte Dean, Nikki Hunnable.

Tottenham Hotspur U13 Whites 4
Enfield Town Ladies U13 0

Spurs under-13 Whites dominated this game against an under-strength Enfield side and ran out 4-0 winners.

Chloe Gunn gave Spurs the lead in the first half, claiming her 15th goal of the season, as she drove the ball from the edge of the area, but the team failed to capitalise on a number of goalscoring opportunities.

The second half saw Spurs step up a gear to secure the win by adding three more goals. Leasha Ngotho scored the first driving the ball in with pace and this was soon followed by a goal from Lindsey Cockle, who juggled the ball before placing it coolly past the keeper.

Gunn and Stephanie Smith had a number of shots from distance and it was a shot from the latter that the goalkeeper failed to hold and Ngotho stepped in to convert her second of the game.

Squad: Sian Osmond, Jodie Fenn, Paige Barnard (c), Stephanie Smith, Lucky Di Biasio, Chloe Gunn, Rhiannon Kelly, Lindsey Cockle, Laila El Haddad, Leasha Ngotho, Tessa Osborne, Katie Goodland

Tottenham Hotspur U13 Blues 1
Harpenden U13s 2

A rusty Spurs side, which had not played for three weeks, were only just edged out of the Under-14 Plate final by First Division Harpenden.

Harpenden started the better of the two sides, but the back four and the goalkeeper managed to keep them at bay until the 28th minute when Harpenden scored.

The Tottenham side started the second half a lot better and striker Becky Shephard scored an equaliser in the 54th minute, but when Harpenden scored again eight minutes later to regain the lead, Spurs couldn't get back in the game, meaning the disappointment of a second semi-final defeat this season.

Squad: Megan Barsby, Grace Gilbey, Lotty Lovejoy-Crump, Olivia Rodney, Tayla Goodman (c), Alexandra Robinson, Erin McGuire, Melika Edwards, Bansari Haria, Rosie Daly, Ruby Marlow, Kirsty Cunoosamy, Becky Shephard, Yasmin Hassan.

Tottenham Hotspur U14s 2
Bedwell Rangers U14s 0
HGFL Plate quarter-final

The Under-14s reached the semi-final of the HGFL Plate competition with a 2-0 victory over Bedwell Rangers.

Throughout the early stages, Spurs put the Bedwell defence under constant pressure without showing an end product in front of goal, but eventually went ahead after 17 minutes when a Leesa Shields corner was nodded back across the goal by Patrizia Leo for captain Ryah Vyse to head home.

The second half saw Spurs continue to pressurise Bedwell for long periods but it took until the 60th minute before a left foot strike from Ryah Vyse from 25 yards out screamed into the top corner of the goal to put Spurs 2-0 up.

The nine Bedwell Rangers players battled from the kick off and were a credit to their club, as they made Spurs fight hard for this victory.

Squad: Ricole Vyse, Shikiera Richards-Lake, Hoshi Cooper-Hutchinson, Leesa Shields, Ryah Vyse, Sophie Petros, Rebecca Hunneyball, Bethany Hunter Scott, Toni Gillman, Patrizia Leo, Charlie Newson-Archer.
