Ladies hit top spot

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Spurs Ladies 6 QPR 3

Lucy Pinnock put QPR to the sword as Spurs Ladies hit top spot in the GLLL Premier Division.

She scored four goals and created the first as Spurs enjoyed a purple spell after the break to put the issue beyond doubt.

That was far from the case in the first half. Early pressure finally told when Pinnock’s corner was headed into her own goal by a defender but QPR hit straight back for 1-1 with another goal from a corner.

Pinnock restored the lead from an acute angle after 27 minutes but with six minutes of the half left QPR levelled after breaking the offside trap.

Spurs went into overdrive in the second half. With 52 minutes on the clock Jenna Schillaci beat four players before crossing for skipper Jackie Fearon to slot home for 3-2.

Two minutes later Pinnock flicked home Katy D’Agostino’s free-kick and with 76 minutes gone the same player completed her hat-trick with a curler from the edge of the area.

Pinnock was there again for her fourth goal after fine work from Fearon before QPR grabbed a late consolation.

Spurs Ladies: Wilson, Wiltsher, Wiggen, Hammarin, D’Agostino, Blackmore, Pinnock, Fearon, Broderick, Schillaci, Oliver. Subs: Curtis, Johnson.

Spurs Ladies Reserves picked up a creditable draw at Colney Heath in GLLL Reserve Division One.

Hit by injuries, Spurs travelled with the minimum 11 players but soon went into a 2-0 lead through La Toyah Johnson. She lobbed home her first and followed up Sabrina Nain’s shot for the second.

But lack of match fitness showed in the second half and they were pegged back by the home side.

Spurs Ladies Reserves: Kao, Jones, Djoshkoun, Sheals, Tsou, Curtis, Murphy, Smith Da-Costa, Daniells, Johnson, Nain.

The under 13’s beat Shefford Saints in the Hertfordshire Girls League 3-1 with goals from Kerry Boyce, Andrea Magwood and Learna Dias-Lawrence.
