Kyle's 'got everything' - JD

Jermain Defoe is convinced Kyle Walker can be a regular in the England team after his impressive full debut against Sweden.

Jermain Defoe is convinced Kyle Walker can be a regular in the England team after his impressive full debut against Sweden.

The flying full-back was named Man of the Match as Fabio Capello’s men won 1-0 at Wembley on Tuesday night thanks to Gareth Barry’s deflected header in the first half.

Undaunted by the biggest stage, Kyle was defensively solid and looked to bomb forward on his right flank at every opportunity, just like he does every week for Spurs.

Jermain knows what it’s all about at the highest level having been capped 46 times himself by England, and the striker insists you cannot underestimate Kyle’s performance.

“It’s not easy, getting Man of the Match for England, let alone on your full debut!” said ‘JD’. There are so many other quality players out there.

“It’s special for him. He’s only 20 and to get into the full England squad and to be voted best player on the pitch, that’s unbelievable really.

“It doesn’t surprise me though, to be honest. He was fantastic on loan at QPR and Villa last season and he’s done really well for us this season.

“He’s such an athlete. He’s strong, quick, aggressive, he can defend and is so good going forward.

“I think he could be the England right-back for years to come. He’s s got everything to be a top player and to go on and play in plenty of tournaments for England.”
