Kyle looks to kick on

Kyle Naughton admitted his recent double milestone came as a surprise.

The full-back racked up his 200th career appearance in the 4-0 win at Newcastle and quickly followed with with a 50th match in our colours at Norwich.

He's since added another two games to that tally against Dnipro and Cardiff at the Lane on Sunday.

The Sheffield-born defender joined us from boyhood club Sheffield United in July, 2009, but spent the first three years with us out on loan, furthering his development at Middlesbrough, Leicester City and Norwich City.

Over the last couple of seasons his name has been more familiar on our teamsheet, featuring 26 times last term and having already racked up 22 appearances this time around.

“Obviously it was nice to hear that I had reached those milestones, it actually came as quite a surprise because it all seems to have gone so quickly,” he said the 25-year-old.

“I would have liked to have played more times for Spurs by this stage, but those 50 matches have mostly come over the last two seasons and I’ve enjoyed being more involved in that time, it’s what I’ve been wanting to do with Spurs.

“I’m not one who looks out for milestones, I’ll play each game as it comes along, keep working hard and hope for more opportunities.”
