Kyle Walker-Peters says our Academy players are keen to put on a good team performance in tonight’s FA Youth Cup clash with Chelsea at White Hart Lane.
We meet the Blues in the semi-final, first leg with the second match coming up at Stamford Bridge later this month.
For right-back Kyle, who has scored in wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest en route to the last four, hard work on everyone’s part will be key to achieving a positive result tonight.
“I’m really looking forward to the game and I know all the boys are buzzing as well,” he said. “There are a few nerves surrounding the match but that’s natural and we’ll look to use that to our advantage.
“Before every game, as a team, everyone is anxious to do well and that’s been a major factor in us beating the sides we’ve come up against in the competition so far.
“Our progress is mainly down to team ethos. We work well as a team, we stick together, we battle for each other and that makes it easier for the individuals to do what’s necessary to win the games.
“I think we need to make a good start tonight – the first 30 minutes are going to be vital. Chelsea have some good players and it’s going to be a good test for us.”
