Kieran eager to step out at the Lane
02 July 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Kieran Trippier is looking forward to running out at White Hart Lane as a Spurs player for the first time, having been bowled over by the atmosphere during Burnley’s visits last season.
Our new signing lined up for the Clarets as we inflicted a 2-1 defeat on them in the Premier League back in December, 2014, and was on duty once again as we sent Sean Dyche’s men crashing out of the FA Cup with a 4-2 victory in a third round replay the following month.
Recalling those matches, two of four meetings we had with his former club last season, the right-back says he learned lessons about our style of play – but it was the intense environment generated by our supporters that left a lasting impression on the 24-year-old.
And with those experiences still fresh in his mind, Kieran says he can’t wait to step out at our famous stadium with our fans on his side.
“Having played against the Club four times last year, I’ve learned quite a lot about Tottenham,” he said.
“When I was with Burnley and we were playing Tottenham, we knew they would be a difficult team to come up against with the individual players that are here but I enjoyed playing against them and I’m so happy to have the opportunity now to play at White Hart Lane in a Spurs shirt.
“I can remember walking out of the tunnel last season and thinking what a fierce atmosphere it was at the stadium.
“Even during the game you’re aware of the support by the Tottenham fans and it’s a great environment to play in. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
