Kids' derby day draw

English Barclays Premiership

Spurs Under-17s maintained their unbeaten status in the FA Premier Academy League after picking up a point against the old enemy Arsenal.

We had the better chances in a fine encounter as both John Sutton and Ghyslain Vedeux missed one-on-one opportunities.

Boss Jimmy Neighbour commented: “We played well in what was a very good game of football. We had the best chances before they came back into it. All in all though it was very even and a good game.”

The news was not so good for the Under-19s. They were beaten 1-0 at Aston Villa with the only goal of the game netted after 20 minutes.

Manager Pat Holland, pictured right, said: “We started off brightly enough but we gave a poor goal away from a bad defensive error. We were in control in the second half but didn’t have enough quality in areas to create clear-cut chances.”

The Under-17’s match against West Ham, scheduled for this Saturday, will now take place at Purfleet FC 24 hours earlier on Friday, October 6, kick-off 6.30pm.

Spurs U19s: Attwell, Saker, Lacy, Bowditch, Quilter, Fortune, Consorti (Burke 70), Snee, Kamanan, Jackson, Partin (Barnard 75).

Spurs U17s: Burch, Gardner, McKie, Hughes, Henry, O’Donoghue, Marney, Vedeux (Slabber 75), Sutton, Thomas.
