Kelly reaching his goals

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Stephen Kelly smiles when you suggest he's lining up a shot at being top scorer next season.

The full-back has added a potent attacking game and now goals to his already-impressive CV this season.

Head Coach Martin Jol revealed earlier this season that he had been working on Stephen's offensive play and final product after the raiding right-back found himself in so many good positions.

He's now responded with two goals in his last six games - the first goals of his career - after sending us back into seventh spot in the Barclays Premiership with the fifth against Aston Villa in Sunday's 5-1 win.

That goal summed 'Steo' up - sprinting forward to support play in the last minute, controlling Sean Davis' clever back-heel pass and finishing in style.

"I don't know about top scorer!" he laughed. "I'm just trying to do my bit for the team.

"Sean did a little back-heel to me, I took it on my chest, came inside and suddenly I was two yards out.

"I keep making those runs, keep getting into good areas and like I said before, when I get a chance in those positions it's a matter of putting it away. I did that again, it's another goal for the season and it feels great.

"It's a side of my game I've been working on and to score a couple of goals in the last few weeks is fantastic. Things are going really well."

Steo's strike was the icing on the cake on Sunday. Fredi Kanoute netted twice and Ledley King once as we went 3-0 up, Gareth Barry's penalty just before half-time revived Villa but their hopes was ended by Andy Reid's screamer into the top corner for 4-1. Then Steo arrived in the nick of time to take us above Middlesbrough on goal difference.

"It was a superb win," added Steo. "We put on a great performance all over the park. I thought Andy Reid and Simon Davies were brilliant on the wings and we dominated the game.

"They came back with that goal but Andy killed them off and we played some great football, passing, movement, got behind them - let's hope we can do it again at Middlesbrough on Saturday."
