Keeping it in the family!

Michael Dawson likes the way pre-season is shaping up - it could now include facing his brother in China!

We confirmed our participation in the Barclays Asia Cup on Wednesday morning - full details HERE...

We play West Ham on July 29 and will then play the winners of Beijing Gouan or Hull City on July 31 - the Tigers the home of Michael's brother Andy!

"That could be a bit of a surreal experience, playing against my brother all that way away from home!" smiled Michael. "But I'm sure it will be a good game for our preparations if we end up playing against Hull as well. First of all, West Ham will be a test."

The two games in China and one against South China in Hong Kong on August 2 follow the prestigious Wembley Cup in July when we will face newly-crowned European champions Barcelona (July 24) and Celtic (July 26) at the national stadium.

"That tournament is one to look forward to and we'll have to make sure we're all fit before we start running around that massive pitch!" added ‘Daws'.

"They are going to be great games, but pre-season is all about regaining your fitness.

"In the last couple of summers we have had great pre-seasons but gone into the opening games and lost, which is no good.

"Hopefully we'll enjoy a good pre-season, playing against some top class teams like Barcelona and Celtic, and be flying come the first day of the season."
