Keep going, keep believing

Harry Redknapp’s message was ‘keep believing’ after Tuesday’s hard-fought 1-0 win against West Brom.

Harry Redknapp’s message was ‘keep believing’ after Tuesday’s hard-fought 1-0 win against West Brom.

Jermain Defoe’s 62nd-minute strike consolidated our third place in the Premier League table.

Our run of 13 wins, three draws and just one defeat since our opening defeats against United and City means we’re now five points ahead of Chelsea and six clear of Arsenal in third with a game still in hand.

Inevitably, there was more talk of title contention as Harry faced the media afterwards.

Asked if the win was a sign of a title-winning team, the manager responded: “I don’t know about that.

“We’re there or thereabouts, we just have to keep believing, keep going. You never know. I’ve said that all along that nothing is impossible.

“But we’ve hard games coming up. Everton, you couldn’t think of tougher opposition, they are always difficult to beat. If we get three points I’ll be delighted. Wolves will be tough as well.

“There are just no easy games. You only have to look at the results over the holiday period.

“Blackburn proved it at Old Trafford, Sunderland beating City, Fulham beating Arsenal.

“We’ve got some tough games coming up here but we just have to keep going and see where we finish up.”
