Kazu through the pain barrier

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Kazuyuki Toda played through the pain barrier to complete his first 90 minutes for the first team in last night's friendly against Bohemians.

The Japanese midfielder appeared to be struggling after an early knock at a packed Dalymount Park but after some magic from physio Ally Beattie's sponge, in true footballing form he ran off the problem.

He made an impact as well - he was involved in Gary Doherty's equaliser and forced a fine save from Bohemians keeper Seamus Kelly in the second half.

But he admitted that was little consolation after a disappointing 3-1 defeat against the Eircom League champions.

"I am okay, no problems and I wanted to play on," said Kazu afterwards. "I wanted to show everybody what I could do and I enjoyed it.

"I worked hard but we couldn't win, so I'm disappointed with that. It was a difficult game and Bohemians played well.

"I think I am fit and I did my best but I still want to improve."

Kazu has been an unused substitute in our last two Premiership matches and is now hoping to get his first taste of Premiership action against Liverpool on Sunday March 16. "That would be great," he added.
