Kazu determined to succeed

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Kazuyuki Toda is determined to succeed in his new life in the Premiership.

The Japanese international has signed a 12-month loan deal from Shimizu S-Pulse and has completed his first week as a Spurs player.

He is well aware that, despite the best efforts of Junichi Inamoto at Arsenal and now Fulham, a Japanese player has yet to really make his mark in the Premiership.

'Kazu' wants to put that right. "I understand that a Japanese player has not really succeeded here and I want to change that image and become the first player to succeed," he said.

"Junichi Inamoto said it took a year to adjust. I hope it won't me take a year to adjust. I want to adjust as quickly as I can and play for Tottenham."

A defensive midfielder, Kazu likened himself to Nicky Butt in his press conference and reiterated that it was his dream to be in the Premiership.

"I'm very happy to be here," he said. "It's a great club, great history, great players and this is my dream, to be part of the Premiership. Now I am here to play and show my best and hopefully I will succeed here.

"This club has a great history and great players have played here.

"I have been with Steve Perryman and Ossie Ardiles in Japan so I've heard lots about the team. Hopefully I will do well."
