Kasey on Foxes faux pas
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Kasey Keller says that making a howler is a whole lot easier to bear when three points are eventually put in the Premiership bank.
The USA international, outstanding this season and with three successive clean sheets behind him, let a Paul Dickov shot between his legs against his former club Leicester on Sunday. Thankfully, the only thing lost on the day was another clean sheet as OJ Mabizela and Fredi Kanoute netted to overcome the first half deficit.
"Whenever you give up a bad goal it is always great not to lose," reflected Kasey. "I've been pretty fortunate throughout my career that whenever it has happened the team have usually covered for me.
"That is great, I think you saw the reaction of the guys and my reaction to them. I just came in at half-time, held my hands up and said 'I don't know what happened - sorry. See if you can get something for me'.
"They did exactly that and more. It is a fantastic feeling and the key is now to go as many games as possible without making any other mistakes and maybe getting punished for it. That is what it's all about."
Kasey's career has been fortunately devoid of too many glaring individual errors that have been punished, but he insists that, occasionally, it is simply part of a keeper's lot.
"In about 400 and something games I've had two or three I think. A bad goal is a bad goal - it doesn't matter how it works.
"They happen though, you ask Pat Jennings, Peter Shilton - everybody has had them and, if you play long enough, you are going to get them."
"It was kind of the weekend of goalkeeping mistakes and I'm just sorry that my name was on it.
"Like I said, if it happens and you can sit back and reflect on three points won, it makes it a whole lot easier."
