Kane: 'I feel fit and sharp'

Harry Kane says he’s made the most of his recent time on the sidelines to tune himself up for the challenges that lie ahead this season.
The 23-year-old hit man – back in the England squad for tonight’s World Cup qualifier against rivals Scotland and Tuesday’s friendly with Spain at Wembley – marked his return to action in the 1-1 draw at Arsenal last weekend.
Out with an ankle injury since our 1-0 home win over Sunderland on September 18, Harry came straight back into the starting line-up at the Emirates and duly tucked away our second-half penalty as we recovered from conceding just before the break to secure a share of the spoils.
In total, the front man was sidelined for seven weeks but he’s revealed that he was determined not to waste any of that time as he worked his way back to fitness.
“No-one wants to be injured but when you do have setbacks like that you have to kind of look at the positives and that’s what I did,” he said.
“I had the chance to recover other muscles of the body that have been going non-stop for quite a few years now.
“I did that, I kept myself fit and healthy and did a lot of gym work, which I haven’t been able to do because of the amount of games we’ve been playing so I definitely feel fit and feel sharp.
“I’m sure it will put me in good stead for the rest of the season.”
