Kane at Christmas, part two - the festivities begin!

25 December 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

It’s Christmas Day and, in the second part of our festive chat with Harry Kane, we hear from the striker about his plans for today and tomorrow…

Harry Kane is relishing some quiet time with his family today – but still has one eye on Wednesday’s trip to Southampton.

The academy product admits it feels unusual not to have a Boxing Day match to prepare for as he has done several times previously, with our first post-Christmas outing not until the midweek trip to St Mary’s.

However, the way the games have fallen means he’s got time to recharge his batteries today and enjoy a relaxing few hours with his nearest and dearest before we get back down to business on the south coast…

What are your plans for today?
Harry Kane: “Just to chill really, relax at home with my girlfriend Kate, probably go around both our families’ houses, have a bit of food, play some games, have a bit of fun and just enjoy the day.”

Will it be strange not to be playing on Boxing Day this year?
Harry: “Yes, it will be. Because of that it’s the first time I’m not doing anything on Christmas Day for a while so maybe I can eat a bit more food this year than usual! No, seriously, it’s going to be weird, we’ll be watching the games at home on television this year but there’s nothing wrong with change and we’re looking forward to Wednesday night.”

What’s your ideal festive meal?
Harry: “Turkey, cranberry sauce, roast potatoes – the lot!”

This is of course the last Christmas before you become a father…
Harry: “Yes, we’ve got a little baby due in January. That’s very exciting, it’s an exciting time for me and Kate so we’re looking forward to 2017 very much.”

In tomorrow’s third and final instalment of ‘Kane at Christmas’, the striker will be sharing his views on our upcoming matches against Southampton, Watford and Chelsea…
