'Just perfect' - Harry

Harry Redknapp described clinching a place in the Champions League as a 'fantastic achievement'.

Peter Crouch's goal in the 82nd minute of Wednesday's showdown at Eastlands secured a 1-0 win and fourth place in the Premier League.

And the manager insisted the win was thoroughly deserved after fielding an attacking line-up and 'going for it' even though we started the night a point ahead of City.

"I just wanted to get there, to finish fourth," said Harry. "It's a fantastic achievement for the players and everyone at the club.

"It was great to come here and win. We were positive, I picked an attacking team and took a bit of a gamble.

"We were a point in front (of City) and could have easily come here and played 4-5-1 but we went for it.

"We were talking about the team beforehand and we've got Lennon, Bale, Defoe, Crouch - four fantastic forwards - so I thought 'let's have a go'.

"The centre-halves were fantastic, King and Dawson. Kaboul was outstanding as well in an unfamiliar position at right-back.

"Crouch led the line unbelievably and it was the best we've seen of Defoe for a while as well.

"I thought we deserved it. Their keeper has made a couple of great saves at vital times and I thought maybe the goal wasn't going to come.

"But we scored and it was the perfect way to do it by winning here.

"We've played well throughout the season and that's the key. It's been a pleasure to watch.

"I've enjoyed watching the lads play, the way we move the football. That's how I like to play. It's been fantastic."
