Joy for Young Lions

Adam Smith and Harry Kane enjoyed wins on England duty on Thursday night.

Full-back Adam played a full shift as England Under-21s beat Iceland in European Championship qualifying while forward Harry played an hour as the Under-19s beat Denmark in a friendly.

Currently on loan at MK Dons, Adam had to shake off an ankle injury after a heavy challenge in the 40th minute to complete the match as Stuart Pearce's men made it four wins out of four in qualifying.

Watford's Marvin Sordell put them 1-0 up at the break, Liverpool's Martin Kelly doubled the lead just before the hour and there was a late flurry of goals from Villa's Crag Gardner (2) and Craig Dawson of West Brom to run the scoreline up to 5-0.

Adam and team-mate Tom Caroll - an unused substitute on Thursday night - now travel to Belgium for another qualifier on Monday.

Harry's one clear sight at goal forced a fine block from Kesper Larson just before half-time of the Under-19s win against the Danes at Brighton.

In the end, Rob Hall of West Ham won it in the 80th minute.
