Josh living the dream

Josh Onomah used to dream of pulling on our famous white shirt as he watched the first team play at White Hart Lane.
That dream came true last season - and now the Academy product is aiming for more of the same having signed a new contract with the club until 2019.
Josh, 18, made his debut off the bench against Burnley in the FA Cup in January and capped a fine campaign with appearances in both of our summer Tour matches against Malaysia and Sydney FC.
He’s now determined to follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane, Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend and Nabil Bentaleb from Academy to first-team squad regular.
“I’ve been going to White Hart Lane since I was nine, watching the games, feeling the passion of the fans, it just makes you want to pull the shirt on and be out there,” he said.
“Making my debut last season was an amazing feeling, a massive moment for me and I just hope I can experience it more and more.
“Harry, Nabil, Ryan and Andros are inspirational for us. They have all come through the Academy and they have all given us belief, they have shown that it is possible. It’s great to be around them, to ask their advice and learn from them day to day.
“I’d love to follow in their footsteps. I just want to play for Tottenham for many years to come.”

Born and raised in Enfield, Josh initially joined our Academy aged nine. “I started with a six-week trial, did well in my first few matches and it just took off from there,” he reflected.
“I’ve always played in older age groups, so that has helped me as I’ve got older and the club has been great for me with the coaching staff helping me improve and guiding me every step of the way.
"I remember joining the Academy full-time and now I’m 18, I’m delighted to be offered this new deal. As I said, I’d love nothing more than to become a regular in the first team here.”
