Jose gets the Blues
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Jose Dominguez’s beloved Blues left him feeling blue on Tuesday night.
The Portuguese winger has fond memories of his spell at Birmingham City between March 1994 and May 1995.
The City fans haven’t forgotten him either — the travelling support gave him a rousing standing ovation when he left the bench to warm-up in the Worthington Cup tie.
Unfortunately tricky Jose could do nothing to help drag back a 3-1 deficit when he entered the fray in the second half. The damage had already been done when Dele Adebola (2) and Mark Burchill struck in the first half.
A downbeat Jose raised a smile about his reception and admitted: “The Birmingham fans show a lot of love and affection to me but at the end of the day this is Tottenham, we didn’t play well and the result was a catastrophe. We have to put things right in the next game.
“I think we let ourselves down in the first half.
“They came with a very good tactic to play very close, defend very well and hurt us on the counter attack. Every time they broke on the counter attack they looked like scoring.
“The second half was better, they were not dangerous any more but unfortunately we started too late. It was too difficult to come back.
“There is nobody to blame individually. We are a team and everyone wants to get things right as soon as possible.”
