Jon on song

English Barclays Premiership

Jon Partin hit the goal trail as our Under 19s reached the quarter-finals of the prestigious Praktiker Cup in Saarbrucken, near Frankfurt, Germany at the weekend.

He scored the winning goals in 1-0 successes against FC Magdeburg and FC Homburg as we completed our group unbeaten to reach the quarter-finals. We drew our first game 0-0 against Tatran Presov.

However, we were beaten 2-0 by Dynamo Zagreb in the quarter-finals on Sunday. Brazilian outfit FC Sao Paolo won the 16-team tournament.

Academy director Peter Suddaby enthused: "We went with a very small squad and had a few injuries, so the lads did very well. They enjoyed it and learned a lot. We got out of the tournament exactly what we wanted to achieve."

Spurs' travelling party:

Staff - Pat Holland (manager), Rory Brown (physiotherapist), David Kerslake (assistant manager).
