Jol ready for Cup date

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Martin Jol reports there is a buzz among the players as preparations for the FA Cup quarter final trip to Newcastle gather momentum at Spurs Lodge.

The last eight date St James' Park is reward for overcoming Brighton, West Brom and Nottingham Forest in the earlier rounds and the Head Coach views the competition as the opportunity to 'achieve something' in his first season at the club.

"I hope it will be exciting for everybody, it has been so far playing for the FA Cup," considered Martin, pictured left lending his support to Friday's Comic Relief appeal. "Hopefully it will still be exciting for us after the match because we want to achieve something this season.

"It will be a tough game, we didn't do well at Southampton last weekend when you look at the result, but I think we created enough to have got a win. I still have a confident feeling going over to Newcastle.

"It is always the same, when you play for Tottenham the FA Cup is important. For me, the FA Cup is the best cup competition in the world and our players have the same feeling and a buzz about them."

The road to the latter stages of a cup competition generally includes at least one really challenging tie away from home that requires a huge performance. Martin agrees that this is ours.

"Yes, at first you thought why did we have to get Newcastle away? Later on you realise you must beat two or three of the top teams if you want to get to the final.

"Maybe we had good draws against Brighton and Nottingham Forest, but it was still difficult as it always can be in the FA Cup."
