John's two-pronged target

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

John Gorman has underlined our two-pronged target for the rest of the season.

"We want to finish as high as we can in the league and to go all the way in the cup again," declared our assistant boss. "And that starts against Sunderland on Saturday."

The disappointment of Sunday's Worthington Cup Final defeat against Blackburn Rovers hit hard but John is determined for the experience to make us stronger.

"After being in Cardiff once we want to go back," he said. "We have a massive game against Chelsea coming up that no-one will need motivating for and in-between, another easy game - at Manchester United!

"It's only positive feelings coming from this club. Just because you go to a final and lose it, okay it's disappointing, but it can make you stronger for the future."

The Premiership comes first this weekend with the visit of Sunderland to the Lane.

John insisted that we shouldn't rule ourselves out of finishing in the top six yet especially with Aston Villa in our sights and the likes of Leeds United and Chelsea struggling for consistency this season - although Chelsea are unbeaten since losing to us in the Worthington Cup semi-final.

He pointed out: "The good thing is in the last couple of weeks our position has probably bettered.

"Teams have lost around us and we can move up with a couple of wins. There is still plenty to play for and we want to start that against Sunderland."
