John's delight for Baggies

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

John Gorman will always have a soft spot for West Brom after short spell at the Hawthorns and says he's delighted to see them in the Premiership.

Our assistant boss had a coaching role for a few months in Brian Little's short reign as manager in 1999-2000 before leaving for Reading and then teaming up with Glenn Hoddle again at Southampton.

John, preparing the side for Sunday's televised clash against Gary Megson's men, clearly enjoyed his time at the Hawthorns.

"The team has changed a lot since I was there but a lot of the backroom staff are still there," he explained.

"I was only there for a short period after I left Ipswich Town. In all honesty, I was waiting for Glenn to get another job at the time and didn't take on anything with a contract.

"I enjoyed my time at West Brom and we were actually top of the First Division when I left to move nearer home and work with Alan Pardew at Reading.

"It was a shame because I got on great with everyone and we were very close to each other. They were disappointed as well but understood the circumstances.

"I've watched their progress and I'm delighted to see them in the Premiership.

"They had great ambitions when I was there but never quite achieved them. It's been a wonderful achievement for them to get into the Premiership.

"They've always had a big crowd and were a team who were always up there. Look at when Ron Atkinson was manager with Bryan Robson in midfield, they were always up there and that's where the club and the fans want to be.

"They are delighted to be in the Premiership and are determined to stay there."
