Jermaine Jenas ranks his last gasp strike against Arsenal on Saturday as the top goal in his career so far.The seconds were ticking away in stoppage time when Steed Malbranque rolled the ball back in the direction of the England international, who proceeded to drill a low powerful drive beyond the reach of Jens Lehmann and bring about a happy ending to the afternoon's events after Arsenal overhauled Robbie Keane's opener.
"I would probably count it as the best, to be honest, given the occasion and the fact that it was in the last minute against Arsenal with us being 2-1 down at home," said JJ, who said shooting was the only option running through his mind.
"It was very late and there was a few tired legs so there wasn't a lot of movement going on when I got it. I just hit it and caught it sweet.
"I knew it was in from the moment it left my foot, I saw the gap I wanted to hit it in, Lehmann was blocked by a few bodies and I bent it round him nicely.
"It was hot enough out there already and then the temperature inside the stadium went up a few more degrees. It was fantastic," he added, before reflecting on the contrast between the display in the first and second half.
"They are a good team and are going to have big spells when they have a lot of the ball. A few of the lads felt a bit tired, which is unusual for us, but we have come out of it with a draw and are pushing on for the European places."
