JJ sees progress

Jermaine Jenas believes victory at Bolton on Saturday would be a big indicator as to the strides we have made at the start of the current campaign.

Jermaine Jenas believes victory at Bolton on Saturday would be a big indicator as to the strides we have made at the start of the current campaign.

Indeed, three points at the Reebok Stadium would be something of a rarity considering we have only won their once in the league!

But the in-form midfielder feels this is as good a Spurs side as he has played in to date, and one that should be travelling to Lancashire full of confidence after five wins from seven.

"Bolton's never an easy place to go," said JJ. "They bombard you with long balls, they are very physical, strong and you have to stand up and be counted.

"But we showed a killer instinct against Burnley last week and, no disrespect to Bolton, we expect to go there and win if we want to be at the top end of the table at the end of the season.

"We're tougher, both mentally and physically, and we believe in ourselves more than ever. You can come under pressure from the crowd, wrong decisons here and there and sometimes it can be easy for a team to get their heads down if it's not going their way.

"But we seem to be able to dig deep and get something out of these games these days, hopefully we can continue that."
