JJ - ANYTHING'S POSSIBLE

Jermaine Jenas believes we are more than capable of a New Year’s Day victory at Aston Villa if we keep the winning mentality that got us three points against Reading on Saturday. We had to come from behind no less than three times against Steve Coppell’s men in a thrilling 6-4 success at White Hart Lane, and although JJ knows we have to be more disciplined against a tough Villa side, he is taking a lot of positives into the game.
Martin O’Neill’s team are unbeaten in four, but having lost just once away from home since October, our midfielder believes we are in a position to give ourselves a perfect start to 2008.
He said: “Villa are a top side. Even when they’re not playing well, it’s always tough to go to Villa Park.
“They’re a young side with a lot of pace and they’re pretty similar to us really, but we’ve had a couple of good results away from home recently so it should be a good game.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been involved in a game like the one against Reading – it was a weird one. There are a lot of positives to take out of the game, like the fact that we won and we were very creative, but it was a bit of a free-for-all and we know we need to improve.
“But it’s up to us to keep the mentality that we’re always in with a chance in these games and can always turn it around. As long as we try hard and play to our capabilities, anything’s possible.”
