Jimmy Greaves update
26 August 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
The Club can confirm that the Tottenham Tribute Trust, which has been liaising with Jimmy's family since his recent stroke, is providing assistance to Jimmy as he continues his recovery.
The Tribute Trust is a unique voluntary charity which was established in 2002.
Commenting on the Tribute Trust's work, Chairman Jonathan Adelman said: "The Club has quietly and consistently continued to support the Tribute Trust. This support enables us to continue our work in an environment where we can rarely talk about what we do. As a registered charity we have to respect the confidentiality of those who we help. As a result, much of what we do to help our legends can never be shared publicly. In this case we have been in touch with Jimmy's family for some time. With Jimmy now at home continuing his recovery we are able to let our fans know that we are helping. Our assistance will cover Jimmy's stroke rehabilitation and some home improvements which will make Jimmy's day to day life more comfortable as he continues his recovery.
"Over the years we have been able to help many of our former players whether it be with the funding of operations or longer term care, these include the likes of legends such as Les Allen, Dave Mackay, Ron Henry, Bobby Smith and Gazza.
"On behalf of all those who we have assisted to date, I'd like to thank both the Club and those fans and members of the public who generously make donations and fundraise on our behalf. If you wish to make a donation and help us continue our work, you can do so via our justgiving page www.justgiving.com/thettt "
