Colin Calderwood had nothing but praise for his young reserve squad despite suffering two defeats in the Jersey Tournament.
In two tight games, we were beaten 2-1 by Barcelona on Friday and 1-0 by Manchester United on Saturday.
Boss Colin pointed out how we recovered well after John Jackson was sent off in the first match against Barcelona.
Trailing 2-0 at the break in the 90-minute matches, we hit back through Stevie Ferguson and impressed with 10 men in the second half.
Colin reflected: "We were down to 10 men for a long period but we got a goal back in the second half and threatened to equalise, which the lads would have deserved for the effort they put in and the way they went about it.
"The sending off had a real influence on it because they scored in the period we were down to 10 men and before we could re-organise ourselves.
"There was nothing in the Manchester United game, a good, honest game of football with two teams committed to playing at a high tempo.
"They scored after about 20 minutes but we had more possession and possibly more chances than them.
"The disappointing thing was that the boys didn't get any reward for their performances.
"You had to be there to appreciate how they went about the job. I'm not pulling wool over anyone's eyes when I say I was pleased with our approach and how we played."
