Jamie's knack

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Pat Holland hailed the performance of two-goal striker Jamie Slabber after the 2-1 FA Youth Cup triumph over Bolton and said simply: 'He's got the knack'.

The 17-year-old continued his remarkable rise this season, one that has seen him graduate from starting in the under-17 side to the under-19s and our Youth Cup side.

Pat feels that Jamie (pictured with skipper Ben Bowditch), along with the rest of his Academy side, have a good chance of making it in the game.

"He's got a knack," said Pat of Jamie. "He's a boy that needs to develop, he needs to be a little bit more aggressive if he's going to move on - in a proper sense - just a bit more to his game.

"He's just turned 17 and is a lovely fella and he's one of those we've hopes for. That goes for all of them, they are a good unit who work well together.

"I think they'll be boys coming out of there that will be players at some level."

For his part, Slabber was thrilled to put on such a show at the plush Reebok Stadium.

"It's the biggest game for me so far - especially in the Reebok Stadium as well.

"It was good. There was a few there, around 1,500, and we got a bit of abuse down there."

Jamie feels that his promotion to Pat's Youth Cup side has resulted from his goal ratio - scoring goals is something he's been doing at every grade bar a sticky patch in the under-12s.

"I've got there by performance really and scoring goals. I think I'm doing well anyway.

"I scored about 14 for the under-17s and I've got about 19 in all now - so I'm doing alright. Hopefully I can carry on.

"I hit a bit of a bad patch in the under-12s, I wasn't getting a game, but then a new manager came in and I've gone on from there really.

"I've got more confidence now. We've got Leeds in the next round, I'm looking forward to that - can't wait."
