Jamie's high point

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Jamie Slabber did not have to ponder for too long on what was his personal high point of the season.

The 18-year-old striker came off the bench to make his first team debut against Liverpool in mid-March and introduced himself to the White Hart Lane crowd with an assist towards Teddy Sheringham's goal.

Unfortunately, an ankle injury curtailed his season shortly afterwards, but Jamie was fit to link up with the first team squad for the mid-break get-together last week.

"Yes, it was good," said Jamie of his run-out against the Merseysiders. "It was nice to get a little run out in the first team. It was a massive confidence boost."

With Robbie Keane and Steffen Iversen injured a couple of newspaper reports suggested that Jamie could feature in the first team fold for the first time - something that took him by surprise.

"I didn't really know, I was training with them and it was mentioned that I could be in the squad. I opened the paper, saw my name and couldn't believe it - me in the paper."

While it was his first experience of Premiership football, it was, of course, his first experience of coming up against Premiership central defenders. In this case it was the giant and somewhat daunting prospect presented by Liverpool's Sami Hyypia - who had his own little welcome for the newcomer.

"That bloke is massive," laughed Jamie. "He didn't say anything to me but gave me a little nudge - so I gave him one back!

Jamie is now looking forward to hopefully making a further impression in the forthcoming campaign and reports that his ankle problems are behind him.

"I can't wait to get back in there. I feel the fittest I've been for a long time and I can't wait for the season to start."
