Jamie makes right impression
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Young winger Jamie Davis caught Clive Allen's eye in Thursday night's Spurs XI draw against Boreham Wood.
The Academy first year trainee made his debut at reserve level and impressed with his pace and willingness to take on his full-back at Meadow Park.
Unfortunately, we failed to capitalise on a number of dangerous crosses from Jamie and Emil Hallfredsson on the opposite wing as the friendly finished 1-1.
"Jamie was certainly a threat down the right," said reserve coach Clive. "He has electric pace and uses that to get around the outside of his full-back.
"The pleasing thing was that he delivered quality crosses across the face of the goal.
"With that threat I've told our forwards, players running from deeper and Emil Hallfredsson on the other side of the pitch that they've got to get in there and get on the end of them. If you have someone who can create those chances we have to be in there to finish them off.
"It was a good experience for Jamie and likes of Matty Wells and Radwan Hamed who also came on and David Button, who started in goal.
"It was an opportunity for them and they all acquitted themselves well. They have only been used to youth football and this is now senior football, so it's a step up for them and they all handled it well."
All three look set to be in the squad for Saturday's Spurs XI friendly against Cambridge City at Milton Road, kick-off 3pm.
