Jacques pleased with<br>second half display
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Jacques Santini was pleased with how we fought back in the second half of Saturday's 1-0 defeat against United.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy's penalty won the points in a game of few-clear cut chances at the Lane.
Jacques rightly pointed out that both Paul Robinson and Roy Carroll produced saves but United kept us at distance with Carroll denying Pedro Mendes, Robbie Keane and Simon Davies efforts all from outside the box.
Robbo did superbly to keep out Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo and particularly a point-blank header from David Bellion but United also had a goal disallowed and Robbie Keane blocked an almost certain goal from Mikael Silvestre.
"I thought my team played a good match especially the second half with aggression and good passing," pondered Jacques.
"I am disappointed because we haven't managed a good result but we had two or three injuries and needed to substitute Fredi Kanoute after 20 minutes.
"It was possible to equalise in the second half when we played well. We had two or three good chances but Manchester also had two or three good chances and the goalkeepers both made good saves.
"No-one likes defeat but we have now played Chelsea and Manchester United in a week. My team believed in our chances but I still have good information from these matches for the championship."
