Iversen raring to go

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Steffen Iversen reports no reaction from his injury and is now raring to go for the final lap of the season.

Only just back from a groin problem, our Norwegian hitman was thrust into the action at half-time against Charlton after Les Ferdinand aggravated an Achilles injury.

He looked sharp and played his part as chances were created but, unfortunately, missed as the visitors nicked a 1-0 Premiership win.

Steffen admits he surprised himself. "I feel very good," he revealed on Tuesday. "I surprised myself a little because I hadn't trained that much, a lot of running and a couple of full sessions but it felt alright. I had to come on at half-time and I felt nothing on Monday, so it's good news."

It was suggested that he return was timed to perfection with Les, Teddy Sheringham and Sergei Rebrov all suffering minor knocks.

"We've got a few injuries now," he said. "Teddy is struggling, Les has that knock and Sergei is struggling with a bad back but I think we'll be ready for Sunday. For me, it's just about ticking over this week and being out there again on Sunday."

It's a situation he's used to though - managers at the club in recent years have not had the luxury of a fully-fit strikeforce.

"We never seem to have any luck with the strikers," he pointed out. "The injuries we have at the moment are only minor knocks so it's not too bad. You get knocks like this at the end of the season, players are tiring a little but of course it's a little frustrating."

After another disrupted season where he's suffered from a serious leg injury and then minor knocks, Steffen is determined to finish the season with a flourish.

"I'm looking forward to every game," he added. "For me, it's like the season has just started but it's almost the end. I want to get every game I can under my belt and be ready for next season.

"Sunday is a huge game for us. We're all down at the moment, we're going down a little slope and now we need three points. The first chance is Sunday so we need everyone ready, get out there and win it."
