Iversen fresh and ready

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Steffen Iversen is hoping that his freshness will enable him to make a big impact in the second half of the season.

The Norwegian hitman has come more into the first team fold of late after missing a chunk of the campaign as the partnership between Robbie Keane and Teddy Sheringham developed.

Steffen actually started the season at Everton and later had a spell on the right of midfield before returning to striking duties over the Christmas period. He featured against Manchester City, was a goalscoring substitute against Charlton and was a starter against Newcastle, Southampton in the league and Sunday's win over Everton.

By his own admission, Steffen struggled to find his touch against the Merseysiders, but feels his form will improve as he gets into his stride.

"I think over Christmas it went quite well," reflected the 26-year-old. "I felt quite fresh, played alright and scored a goal.

"Against Everton I struggled a bit and got down because I didn't play like I know I can play.

"I just have to bounce back from that game and work hard in training. Hopefully it will lead to a couple of goals at the weekend," he added, before agreeing that having a fresh striker can only benefit the team in the latter stages of the season.

"Definitely. Obviously you hope to play more at the beginning of the season as well, but I didn't and feel good with working hard in training.

"Hopefully I can now stay in the team."
