Steffen Iversen hasn’t given up hope of facing Manchester United in this season’s exciting finale.
Our Norwegian hitman was laid up for three weeks following a nasty crack of heads against Bradford City on April 10. It was his second bout of concussion inside seven days and led to some serious problems.
But those problems are behind him, Steffen is back at Spurs Lodge and clinging to the hope that he might just make that United encounter on May 19.
He revealed: “I had some problems after the Bradford game. I was out for three weeks without doing a thing.
“I had problems in those three weeks because I couldn’t see properly, I found it hard to focus but hopefully that’s all over now and I’m back at the training ground looking to gradually build up.
“I got quite a hard knock for Norway and then this one.
“I had to spend a night in hospital and didn’t feel well for about a week, feeling dizzy and having headaches.
“That was two head knocks in a row, I’ve some consultancy with the doctors here and a specialist and it’s important to have had the rest I’ve had. If I have a third one like that I could be out for three to six months.
“I’ll start stepping up fitness work now and I’ll soon see if I can start heading the ball.
“I’m hoping I might be ready for United. If I’m going to manage a game it will be that one. I’ll just have to see how things go in training between now and that game.”
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
