Iversen determined to avoid 'i' word
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Steffen Iversen is determined to try and prevent the injuries that have plagued his life at the Lane.
Our Norwegian hitman plays the final match of his season tonight when Norway take on Iceland in a friendly.
Once again, the dreaded 'i' word dominates when he looks back on the season. He suffered a serious leg injury on international duty back in September that ruled him out until December and a groin problem in February sidelined him for another month.
It's something he wants to change this summer.
Steffen reflected: "It's gone very well when I've played but unfortunately, again, most of the season I've had trouble with injuries.
"It's up to me now to have a little look back, perhaps change a few things and come into pre-season a little more ready and hopefully stay away from injuries.
"I want to have a look back now the season has finished, see what I've done, when I've got my injuries and see if I can do something to prevent them.
"I've had a talk with Glenn about it, had a talk with the national coach as well, looked at videos where I've been injured so it's up to me to look back and try to stay on the right track and not get injured.
"Unfortunately at the start of the season I had an leg injury that took me four months to get rid of. It's frustrating but at least now I know what to do to try and prevent it.
"You take a few knocks and bruises to the head but as long as it's not serious, you can always come back fairly quickly, so I'm not too worried about them.
"I'm more worried about the knee injuries that take months and months to get back again. Those are the things I want to stay away from now, knee injuries, ankle injuries and try to stay fit for a full season."
