It's all about what we can control - Clint
Clint Dempsey insists our mindset is about 'what we can control' as we prepare to face Sunderland in Sunday’s Premier League finale.
We go into game 38 sitting fifth, just a point behind Arsenal, who travel to Newcastle.
“It’s all about what we can control, making sure we get the three points and hoping everything falls into place,” said the USA striker, who bagged goal number 12 of the season last week at Stoke, and then set-up Emmanuel Adebayor’s winner.
“That’s what our mindset is and that what we have to make sure we go out and accomplish.
“I’m sure Sunderland will be happy they are safe and perhaps sometimes playing without that pressure or fear of relegation will make you play better.
“It will be a tough game and we have to make sure we get the three points and take care of what we can take care of.”
Clint and Ade combined with just eight minutes left at Stoke and Clint feels the number of late goals we’ve managed recently underlines the determination of the squad.
“It shows our character, our fight and that we keep going until the end and that belief and attitude will only help when you try to accomplish the goals you’ve set,” he added.
