It's a team thing
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Teddy Sheringham and Gus Poyet both emphasised the importance of playing as a team after our second Premiership success on the road at Newcastle.
After putting two goals in the scoreboard in the opening 20 minutes, the boys were forced to dig deep and defend for lengthy periods in the second half. It was a test passed with flying colours.
"It got a little bit scary in the second half, but we knew that was going to happen," said Teddy. "It's a tough game coming here, we got in front early on, two great goals from our point of view and we had to keep playing and hang in there.
"We had a gameplan, we all stuck to it and we're all playing for each other at the moment - that's what happens when you play as a team. You come to places like this and you're hard to beat.
"I felt that we were, not comfortable, but playing some nice stuff even before the goals. I think it was coming when we did score and then the second was an absolute stunner. It was nice to be involved in that first half performance.
Gus, who scored his sixth goal in eight games against Newcastle, is of the same thinking as his skipper - always talking of the 'group' ahead of individual performances.
"We are playing well, passing well and enjoying it," said Gus. "After some time you have to suffer a little bit, like the second half, but that's alright.
"Sometimes we had to work back. We are a group with nice fellas and are working for each other - that's really important at the moment."
