'It was pure emotion'

Fri 12 September 2014, 15:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane delivered his proudest moment so far in a Spurs shirt against Sunderland in April – a moment he’ll be reminded of every time we face the Black Cats.

The young striker converted Christian Eriksen's cross for his first Premier League goal as we ran out 5-1 winners at the Lane.

It was a goal that triggered a run of three in three and Harry hasn't looked back since - he's in fine form as we travel to the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Two goals and a match-winning assist in four appearances before going away on international duty, the striker added back-to-back goals for England Under-21s in Lithuania and Moldova.

Now he’s preparing to face Sunderland again as we return to Premier League action.

“It was my first goal in the Premier League and every time we play Sunderland, it will be at the back of my mind,” he said.

“Christian Eriksen was on the left and you know how he can deliver a cross, so it was just a case of getting on the end of it.

“It was pure emotion and a great moment for me, one I won’t forget.”
