Ismail's WHL dream

Ismail Azzaoui relished the chance to play – and score – at White Hart Lane in Monday night’s FA Youth Cup victory over Manchester United.
The Belgian youth international kept up his record of hitting the target in every round of the competition this season with a tidy finish from 16 yards out to put us 2-1 up in the tie, United’s Marcus Rashford having cancelled out Anthony Georgiou’s opener with a first half free-kick.
Georgiou scored again in the latter stages to secure a 3-1 victory and book a trip to Nottingham Forest in the quarter-finals.
Having bagged a hat-trick in our Third Round win over Blackburn Rovers and added a further strike in the Fourth Round against Wolves, Ismail was thrilled to contribute to what was a fine overall performance from our youngsters.
“It was a fantastic experience to play at White Hart Lane - the atmosphere was very good and the support was fantastic,” said the attacking midfielder.
“We played very well and in the latter stages we dominated the game. Manchester United scored from a free-kick which we couldn’t do anything about, but after that we had to think positive. We got it back to 2-1 in the second half and then 3-1 – it was a good performance.”
Ismail was also delighted to see fellow wide man Anthony Georgiou get off the mark in the FA Youth Cup, having already hit four goals in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League this term.
“He’s trying to catch me up now!” Ismail laughed. “Anthony scored two very good goals and I’m very happy for him.”
